Trail Etiquette
Follow Leave No Trace principles, yield to uphill hikers, stay on marked trails, and pack out all waste to keep trails clean.
Hiking Tips
• Hiking Permits & Fees – Some popular hikes require permits, day passes, or entry fees, so check in advance before heading out.
• Stay on Marked Trails – Straying off-trail can damage fragile ecosystems and increase the risk of getting lost.
• Wildlife Safety – Hikers should make noise, carry bear spray where required, and store food properly to avoid wildlife encounters.
Best Hiking Seasons
Many trails in Canada are best from late spring to early fall, but conditions vary by region. Some alpine trails remain snow-covered into summer, while lower-elevation hikes can be accessible year-round.

And the best part is, no matter where in Canada you find yourself, there will always be some awesome trails not too far off. Not to mention, you don’t have to be an expert hiker, as you will also find trails for every level.
